MOnthly checklist

January

  • Check tire pressure regularly due to fluctuations in temperature.
  • Inspect tires for signs of wear, such as cracks or bulges, which can be exacerbated by cold weather.
  • Ensure proper coolant levels to prevent freezing.

February

  •  Rotate tires to promote even wear and extend tire life.
  • Check the battery for signs of corrosion and ensure it's holding a charge well in cold conditions.
  • Keep an eye on windshield wiper fluid levels and replace worn wiper blades.

March

  • Check wheel alignment after navigating through snow and ice.
  • Inspect brakes for wear and tear, as winter driving can be tough on brake systems.
  • Look out for potholes on roads and check tires for damage afterward.

April

  • Check tire tread depth for adequate traction on wet roads.
  • Inspect suspension components for damage caused by winter driving conditions.
  • Clean undercarriage to remove any salt or debris buildup from winter.

May

  •  Prepare for summer driving conditions by checking air conditioning systems.
  • Inspect hoses and belts for wear and tear, as hot temperatures can exacerbate issues.
  • Check tire sidewalls for cracks, as heat can accelerate rubber degradation.

June

  • Inspect and possibly replace cabin air filters for improved air quality inside the vehicle.
  • Check tire pressure frequently as temperatures rise, as underinflated tires are more prone to blowouts in hot weather.
  • Ensure proper engine cooling system function to prevent overheating.

July

  •  Monitor tire pressure regularly as temperatures peak in the summer.
  • Check and possibly replace air filters for optimal engine performance.
  • Keep an eye on tire condition for signs of overheating, such as excessive wear or bulges.

August

  • Check tire pressure before long summer road trips.
  • Inspect brakes and brake fluid for optimal performance on hilly or mountainous terrain.
  • Ensure all lights are working properly for increased visibility during late summer evenings.

September

  •  Prepare for fall driving conditions by checking tire tread depth for traction on wet leaves and slippery roads.
  • Inspect and possibly replace windshield wiper blades for autumn rains.
  • Check and possibly replace engine air filters for optimal fuel efficiency.

October

  •  Better schedule that winter tire change out now!
  • Rotate tires to promote even wear before the onset of winter.
  • Check and possibly replace worn-out tires before the first snowfall.
  • Inspect and test the vehicle's heating system to ensure it's functioning properly for colder temperatures.

November

  •  Check tire pressure frequently as temperatures drop below freezing.
  • Inspect and possibly replace worn-out batteries before the onset of cold weather.
  • Prepare an emergency kit for winter driving, including items like a snow shovel, ice scraper, and blankets

December

  •  Keep a close eye on tire pressure and traction as snow and ice become more prevalent.
  • Inspect and possibly replace worn-out tires with winter or all-weather tires.
  • Ensure all vehicle fluids are at appropriate levels for cold weather operation.
